How do you choose photos for retouching?
As a rule, I don’t make transformative retouching. Photography is the freedom to be, see, feel, and tell a story. My focus is on capturing the moment and the real you. By default, I perform soft natural retouching on close-up portraits, which means slightly evening out skin tone, smoothing the texture a bit, and removing temporary blemishes like breakouts, scratches, etc. Any additional changes or specific retouching requests should be discussed in advance. The selection and color correction are my artistic decisions. I choose the color scheme for each shoot and often work with textures. I would greatly appreciate it if you trust me in this matter.
How do I prepare for the shoot?
1. Clothing. I will definitely help you choose from what you have and give necessary recommendations on selecting clothes and styling. Usually, the simpler, the better, especially if the goal is not to showcase the clothing itself. This is particularly important for family photography, where it is crucial that all participants feel as comfortable as possible. Try to avoid bright colors and complex patterns. You can also get inspired by browsing through the examples of photographs in the Portfolio section.
2. Makeup and Hair. If needed, I can recommend a stylist or makeup artist. However, professional makeup is not mandatory. Remember the rule: the simpler, the better! You can do a light hairdo or just come with clean hair. The most important thing is that you feel good about yourself.
3. Choosing the Location. I know the most picturesque and secluded beaches by the ocean, parks filled with flowers and greenery, and narrow streets of the old city.
4. Posing. The best posing during a photoshoot is being yourself. The less we think about copying someone else’s movements, the more natural and relaxed we look in the photos. I will help and guide you. The most important thing is to just move: adjust your hair, walk, dance, sit, lie down, and simply live in the moment!
